We are excited to announce that our 2017 Secure Shredding Roadshow will begin on Tuesday, April 25th at Galway Racecourse, Ballybrit, Galway. In running the roadshow, DiskShred will seek to bring its secure on-site shredding service to companies throughout Ireland. One of the company’s bespoke shredding vehicles will be present on the day, offering local Galway businesses the opportunity to securely dispose of their data. DiskShred will shred up to 10 data-bearing items for companies that book a slot free of charge, and companies will be encouraged to donate the equivalent cost to local charity, Galway Simon Community, who provide housing and support services to people facing homelessness in Galway.
Those who wish to book a slot should email mailto:tourireland@diskshred.eu today.
DiskShred helps its customers to eliminate reputational and regulatory risks by providing on-site shredding and a highly secure shred measurement of 20mm to ensure the complete destruction of confidential data and guarantee the lowest risk of data leaks.
DiskShred recently carried out the secure destruction of a number of data-bearing items for the National University of Ireland, Galway and the company’s return to the city for the first stop on this roadshow presents an opportunity for local businesses to securely dispose of confidential data in their possession.
Martin Eagleton, IT manager, NUI Galway, said: “The quantity of sensitive personal information that flows through our network meant that when it came to disposing of our old hard drives and other media we needed to be absolutely sure that the data would be 100% destroyed. We knew that we wanted an on-site shredding provider that would guarantee the lowest risk of data leaks for total peace of mind.
“From the moment DiskShred took our initial call we found them brilliant to deal with. Nothing was too much trouble for them and disposing of our data securely was worry-free.”
Jeremy Bryan, brand manager, DiskShred, said: “The secure nature of the data stored by many Irish organisations means that they need to exercise their due diligence when it comes to the destruction of data-bearing items such as hard drives, CDs, and USB keys, among others. What’s more, the impending General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) legislation will impose heavy fines on those who fail to protect any customer or third party data in their possession.
“DiskShred’s tamper-proof process eliminates reputation and regulation risks. We call this mutually assured destruction, as the shred is carried out in front of the customer so that complete data destruction can be verified by both parties. Our highly secure shred complies with the EN15713 standard, shredding redundant media into metal flakes roughly the size of a one-euro coin. DiskShred’s fleet shreds two to three times faster than others, and can shred 500 to 700 disks in an hour. This helps to save customers time and money. With this roadshow we look forward to demonstrating our process to companies all around Ireland, starting in Galway.”
